How Recipients Are Selected
At MentalBlkMom, Inc., we believe access to mental health care shouldn't be delayed by red tape, financial strain, or confusing insurance hurdles. Our Therapy & Prescription Assistance Grants is designed to support mothers and women in Georgia who find themselves in that difficult “in-between” space — where they want help, but can't afford to start, continue, or manage their care.
Who We Prioritize
While we wish we could support every applicant, our ability to award grants depends on available funding. To ensure equitable distribution, we prioritize recipients based on the following criteria:
Georgia-based applicants (our primary service region)
Lack of insurance or recent loss of mental health coverage
Financial hardship, including low or unstable income
Single mothers and primary caregivers
First-time therapy seekers unsure where to start
BIPOC women and mothers, particularly those facing cultural or systemic barriers
Urgent or emerging mental health needs, such as postpartum challenges, anxiety, ADHD, depression, or trauma
Each application is carefully reviewed, and if the volume exceeds current capacity, we use this criteria to determine eligibility and impact.
This program was created to bridge the gap before a crisis happens — for the women who lay in bed wondering how they’ll afford care… who hesitate to reach out because they "aren’t sick enough"… or who quietly carry the weight of burnout, grief, or shame.
We see you. We’ve been you. And we’re here to help.
